The following provides a description of our needs, a style framework, advice to optimise your quality and speed of creation. It should help take the ‘work’ out of the creative process, so that you have more fun – which means more engaging content for our clients.

Basic Information

There are different CATEGORTIES of activities that need to be created. These include;

  1. EVENT BASED ACTIVITIES
  2. THEMES
  3. QUIZZES
  4. MUSIC
  5. ENTERTAINMENT
  6. PHYSICAL

The Creation Process

Principle Training Video

This video will teach you everything you need to know to be able to make an Activity.

All the materials you need, such as the MAPs, are available in this resource below.

The Creation Process (in words)

The following explains how to create each type of activity:

STAGE 1 – AGREE ACTIVITY & COMMIT TO CREATE

  1. Download the RemindMecare app from the Android or Apple app stores to view example Readymade activities.
  2. Explore the formats and review the following instructions.

STAGE 2 – GETTING STARTED

  1. Choosing Activities to create
    • OPTION 1
      • We will provide you with activities we wish you to produce.
    • OPTION 2
      • Email Activity Manager with your choice of activities you wish to produce.
  2.  Download the RemindMecare app from the Android or Apple app stores to view example Readymade activities.
    • Explore the Activities to view their format, styles, fonts, etc.
    • click on the Acivivty Notes to take a look at an ANT, such as you will be creating

STAGE 3 – OPTION 1 (Please contact us to discuss Option 2)
  1. We‘ll provide an ANT (Activity Notes Template) with Chapters and information on the required content.
  2. Download the the correct MAP (Master Activity Powerpoint) from below.
    • download a new MAP for every new activity you create as we regularly make improvements to them.
  3. Put your initials in the file name and a version number, like this: ‘Beethoven World Day 01 -sh.pptx’
  4. Find and put internet images and videos into the MAP, and internet found explanatory words into the ANT.
  5. Create the Activities lead thumbnail using the template provided to ensure the size is right.
  6. Paste video links into a slide with a representative jpeg of the music.
  7. Source videos and music only from YouTube.
  8. Double click on the video URL in the video and paste this into the slide.
    • Don’t use the right click in the video itself.
    • Make the word ‘watch’ is in the address.
  9. Add words copied from the internet into the ANT as you add content to the MAP
  10. We recommend that you have both the MAP and the ANT open next to each other on screen so you can see both and edit both simultaneously.
  11. Your aim is to create a 1 hour engaging activity. You should add questions into the ANT that aid the presenter to make it interesting. They will print the ANT out as notes for them to use as they present the activity on the large screen, so the more interesting and supportive they are the better.
  12. Send the MAP to us accompanied by your completed ANT for approval. We suggest you use WeTransfer.com.

    Important:

        • We recommend you use google chrome to do your searches.
        • Have the sequence of the images and videos tell an obvious story and be in chapters.
        • For chapter headings, images sizes, fonts, etc. follow the format in the viewed examples for each them.
        • When finding images, under Tools in the menu bar, set Size to Large to improve photo quality.
        • Remember, that the content should be appealing from the US to Britain, Australia to India.
        • Activities are often used by tired carers who do not speak great English
        • They’re being viewed by the elderly and those with cognitive difficulties.
        • So images should not have too much complexity in them otherwise they will be baffling.
        • You can save internet content as png’s into the MAP. But later when you export them from the MAP to the folder they should always be exported and saved as jpegs not as png’s.
        • Whenever possible make images big so those with poor eyesight can comprehend from a distance.
        • Within the image itself plain backgrounds help wherever possible.
        • Horizontal rectangular shapes are best as the Activity is played on screens of this shape.
        • Make the image wider if necessary but not so that it looks odd.
        • Try and be lateral; ie about Beethoven should have ‘Roll over Beethoven’ by the Beatles.
        • Be sure that videos are suitable for viewing throughout. They should not be longer than 5 minutes.
        • If a video needs real explanation, make a slide before it, with a photo and words that explain what is coming. The next slide with the video link in it, should have the same duplicated picture in it.

Optimal Split Screen Work Process

It will save time and make Activity creation easier if you use a split screen work process. So we recommend that you have both the MAP and the ANT open next to each other on screen so you can see both and edit both simultaneously.

This pop up will show you how to best set up your screen so that you can easily move from MAP to ANT as you find content from the internet (open in another page), copy the image into the MAP and the copied text into the ANT, whilst ensuring that the chapters and slide numbers in the MAP match up with the blue, green and yellow content chapter and title bars in the ANT.

Key creation process

This pop up will show you how to optimise your search process to get the best definition results and how to ensure that you save the full picture with the best density of pixels. Doing it this way really does make a big difference when viewing the image on a TV screen from a distance.

Using the full slide

The size of the Powerpoint slide is set to precisely fit the dimensions of the ReMe app when it presents the image within a session. So it is important that you make the image as large as possible but keep it to a size that does not overlap the size of the slide as this will be lost.

Adding text to an image

You can cut and paste text from the image you’ve found on the internet but its often better to copy and paste the text into a text box as then you can change its size, font and colour, and give it the background colour of your choice. This pop up gives you other tips to maximise the quality of the text within the image.

STAGE 3 – REVIEW & SAVE TO FOLDER

  1. We’ll edit your work, give it a grade from 1 to 10, and put comments on each slide so you can improve your productivity and creativity.
  2. We will send the approved MAP and ANT back to you.
  3. Then use the export facility in powerpoint to export all the slides to a new folder as separate jpegs (not png’s).

ANTs and MAPs FOR USE IN CREATION PROCESS

We will provide you with an ANT that gives the Chapter headings and guides you regarding the required content.

However, if you have not been provided with an ANT (or should you wish to create your own Activities) then you will need to make your own ANT.  Find and download the ANT from the appropriate category below.  Many new ANT’s may have no proper headings. In this case, you can create your own chapter headings, slide and video headings. You can get a guide as to how to do this by viewing sample ANTs for each type of activity by visiting the ReMe app and clicking on the ANT icon at the bottom of the activity tile.

Choose the MAP (Master Activity Template) that matches the activity that you wish to create (and ANT if you need on). Each MAP provides the workspace within which to create an activity, tailored for each type of activity/theme. Next, make a copy of it, name it after the activity that you are creating, follow the instructions and save it.

Once completed, send it to us along with the completed ANT to us for approval.

The Upload Process

How to Upload Content to ReMe Backend

This video will teach you everything you need to know to be able to upload content into ReMe to finish the activity creation process.

STAGE 4  – UPLOADING CONTENT TO THE REME APP BACKEND

If you are approved to do so, we will enable you to upload the completed images to our ReMe app.

  1. View the video instructions.
  2. Be aware that you can do no harm to existing content so don’t worry if you make mistakes.

               Important:

        • Don’t forget to label the very first uploaded content as Zero, not 1.
        • Make sure that the slide numbers in all four content locations match up
          • MAP
          • ANT
          • File Manager Folder
          • ReMe Backend
        • To enable the numbers to match up make the first content, 0, 1, be ‘rubbish’ that you will delete after you have added all content.
        • Save your work regularly, ie when you have entered no more that 10 items, to avoid losses through crashes.
        • The CMS logs out if you are inactive and you will have to reload it. You will lose your work, so periodically save it to avoid work losses.
        • Be careful to have the content uploaded in the right order as its very hard to change later .

profile-the-person

Optimal Split Screen Work Process

The backend upload process of uploading images and videos into ReMe is best undertaken again with a split screen process, so that one can view the ReMe app backend and the content jpg and video source folder at the same time. Sometimes even three screens can be good, so that you can view the MAP also to view where the videos are in the sequence of content being uploaded.
